Emily Harding, known professionally as the Yorkshire Violinist, is a classically trained violinist and educator based in Huddersfield. She studied at The University of Huddersfield and the Royal Northern College of Music, honing her craft before embarking on a vibrant and multifaceted career.
As Yorkshire Violinist, Emily performs across the UK both as a soloist and as an electric violinist, collaborating with renowned ensembles such as Symphonic Ibiza and the celebrated Storm Electric Strings. Highlights of her career include performing with the BBC during the 2022 Christmas season alongside prominent personalities like Sir Cliff Richard. She also served as Orchestral Leader of the Huddersfield Philharmonic Orchestra from 2013 to 2019, bringing her expertise and artistry to the heart of classical music performance.
Beyond performing, Emily is passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians through Yorkshire Violinist, which encompasses her instrumental tuition services. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience in state and private schools, music services, and individual lessons, she offers tailored guidance in violin, viola, piano, and music theory to students of all levels.
Away from her music, Emily loves exploring the Yorkshire countryside as a keen hiker, finding inspiration in its stunning landscapes. She shares her life and love of music with her husband Paul, also a professional musician, and their three children: Charlie, Sam, and Erin.
